Big thank you to Co-op and community

We are delighted to announce that we have received a total of £1,345.09 from the Co-ops Local Community Fund. We entered our project last year after being invited by our local Co-op community liaison contact, Christine Rowe.

We entered  as we wished to fund new equipment which would enable us to provide a healthy kitchen facility, ultimately resulting in improved health & social inclusion for many. Coxhoe Village Hall sought funding for kitchen equipment to support the newly installed kitchen. The new equipment is desperately needed and would enable us to provide a healthy, safe kitchen facility which would ultimately result in improved health & opportunities to increase social inclusion for many of our groups and users. The addition of the kitchen equipment would allow us to expand the range & number of community activities we can offer, e.g: the hall would be perfect for us to welcome a range of residents to a luncheon club to enjoy a healthy, warm meal with engaging & stimulating activities & a relaxing social experience with friends new & old. Also, the catering offer during our toddler/play group could be improved.

For every pound spent at the Co-op on its own branded goods 1% of the value is contributed to the local cause that individual members sign up to. The Co-op also contributes through plastic carrier sales. There were several local causes last year including the Village Hall Play Group, The Active Life Centre and Kelloe Church.

The Village Hall is one of 4,000 causes throughout the country which have benefited from the Co-ops Local Community Fund.

The Village Hall Association Management Team wishes to say a massive heartfelt thank you to all those members of the community who signed up to the Village Hall project and have helped to make this huge award possible. We are very grateful. Thank you.

It would be great if Coxhoe Co-op members could now get behind the Play Group and support their bid. You can access the site here.
